“World Women’s Day” 8 MARCH
WELCOME OF PRESIDENT OF THE PRESIDENT OF THE PRESIDENT OF THE PRESIDENT OF THE PRESIDENT OF THE PRESIDENT OF THE PRESIDENT OF THE PRESIDENT OF THE PRESIDENT OF THE PRESIDENT OF THE PRESIDENT OF THE PRESIDENT OF THE PRESIDENT OF THE B. KORKIDI, IN A GROUP OF WOMEN’S PIRAIA “EXALEIPTRON”
My dear ladies,
First of all, I would like to congratulate the Piraeus Women’s Group “EXALEIPTRON”, for the very beautiful initiative, to award for the second year women, who have an important personality and really adorn our society, with their special work.
Most of us now recognize that the Greek woman has learned to fight and to star in the difficulties of life. She has learned to support her family, to control and adapt the needs of her home, to help her partner, to work for her employer, to contribute to the domestic economy, but also to the economy of our country, supporting with her incredible dynamics the social and productive fabric.
Especially, female entrepreneurs face multiple challenges. As mothers and spouses, they are called upon to run family businesses, which are under terrible pressure due to the crisis, as well as the inevitable tensions that can arise in a family, due to hardship, at a time when normality gives way to exclusion. So this work is brave and titanic and we must all reward it. Finally, I would particularly like to stress the need to promote, as best as possible, the involvement of women in the business representation of the sector they are active in.
All worthy ambassadors of women’s entrepreneurship deserve warm congratulations!”
Women’s Entrepreneurship Day
For information, on 19 November 2014 at the United Nations headquarters, as part of World Entrepreneurship Week and in cooperation with the US Interior Ministry, the opening of the Women’s Entrepreneurship Day was launched, attended by the 144 “ambassadors” of female entrepreneurship from the same number of countries that worked together to create the institution. An institution that is more like a movement to support women entrepreneurs – “women who innovate, create jobs, start start-ups, make their ideas a reality and enhance economic growth and social cohesion in 144 countries”. The founding members of the initiative are PwC, BNP Paribas, Microsoft and the United Nations.
Women’s Entrepreneurship Day aims to create a global movement that will support women entrepreneurs with the contribution of a network of internationally renowned women who will act as Ambassadors for all women worldwide, whose potential for contributing to entrepreneurship and the economy remains largely untapped. After 8 March and 19 November at the United Nations, it was the impetus to raise awareness, inspire and empower 250 million women living in poverty.
– The President, the Board of Directors, the Curators and the Members of “EXALEIPTRON” we warmly thank the President of the Board of Directors and the Board of Directors, Mr. Vassilis Korkidis, for his kind greeting – support of our work, which gives us joy and encouragement to continue.
